Left subclavian artery to descending aorta bypass for coarctation physiology after descending aortic repair.

Stenosis of the aorta observed after descending aorta replacement for traumatic aortic injury was managed by a placement of a bypass between the left subclavian artery and the distal descending aorta with success.

Arch of aorta with bi-carotid trunk, left subclavian artery, and retroesophageal right subclavian artery.

We report a case of left sided aortic arch with three branches - a bi-carotid trunk, left subclavian, artery and right subclavian artery. The anomalous right subclavian artery presented a retroesophageal course. A right non-recurrent laryngeal nerve was noticed. The embryonic development of this branching pattern is discussed.

Left Subclavian Artery Occlusion: Femoro-Axillary Artery Retrograde Bypass

The treatment tactics for subclavian artery occlusion include the more commonly used endovascular therapy rather than surgical intervention. We present a case of a 61-year-old woman with dialysis-dependent chronic renal failure who experienced left finger necrosis in the left upper extremity. To salvage the limb, we performed femoro-axillary (fem-ax) artery bypass using an autologous saphenous ...

Subclavian artery reconstruction in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting.

The presence of occlusive disease of the subclavian artery (SCA) proximal to the origin of the internal thoracic artery (ITA) influences the operative strategy and the outcome of coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). Of 780 patients who underwent CABG, concomitant SCA occlusive lesions were reconstructed in 13 patients (nine males, four females). The affected SCAs were left-sided in 11 patien...

Percutaneous subclavian artery bypass for myocardial perfusion during endovascular intervention.

A 75-year-old woman with familial hypercholesterolemia was admitted with unstable angina. Thirteen years earlier, she had undergone coronary artery bypass grafting with a left internal mammary artery (LIMA) to the left anterior descending artery (LAD) and subsequently bilateral common carotid bypass surgery through a second sternotomy 3 years later. Physical examination revealed left brachial h...
